The cocaine had been brought into Spain from Colombia via the port in Barcelona, where it was smuggled into port hidden in the false bottoms of barrels of castor oil. The second operation was off the coast of Málaga province, where a boat sailing from Nador, Morocco, was boarded and found to be carrying a cargo of more than one and a half tons of cannabis. It’s understood that the gang had planned to unload the drugs at the Cabopino marina in Marbella.

12 people were arrested in that operation.
